CAC Presents: Eileen Ivers' Beyond the Bog Road: An Irish American experience through music, dance, and film

"Eileen is to Irish music as Michael Flantley is to Irish dance- a pioneer, an innovator a universalist." - Pulitzer Prize author Frank Mc Court

Fiddler Eileen Ivers has established herself as the world's pre-eminent exponent of the Irish fiddle. 9-Time All-Ireland Fiddle Champion, Original Music Star of the Riverdance, Founding member of the Cherish Ladies, featured guest artist with over 30 Symphony Orchestras worldwide. This is just a short list of Eileen's accomplishments, tours and collaborations.

An homage to the rich and tireless passage of the Irish people from Ireland to Canada and the United States, Ivers has created Beyond the Bog Road, an All-Star assemblage of Irish and Old Time musicians, singers, champion step dancers, and cloggers/tap dancers. Ireland's bog roads were paths into ancient sod fields, laboriously farmed to provide an essential source of fuel and warmth. The same roads led millions of emigrants from their beloved homeland into a thriving Diaspora who nurtured and passed down their traditions.

Told through music, story, dance an exquisite video design, this multi-media live stage performance is the celebration of the Irish immigrant's impact on America and America's impact on the Irish immigrant.
