The purpose of the film committee is to educate and entertain the University of Tennessee community by providing a wide variety of films and film-related information. Members of the film committee select, publicize, and project films for viewing on campus. All UT students are welcome to join the committee and can become members. Unnatural Causes

A FREE, eight-part, short film & discussion series exploring racial and socioeconomic inequities in health. Participants are welcome to bring a brown bag lunch.

UT Students, Faculty, and Staff and the General Public are invited.

Every other Wednesday, January 15 - April 15, 12:15 - 1:15 PM in the University Center (UC) Auditorium.

January 14: In Sickness & in Wealth (Part 1)
What connections exist between healthy bodies, healthy bank accounts and skin color? Explore how economic justice, racial equality and caring communities may be the best medicines of all.

January 28: In Sickness & in Wealth (Part 2)February 11: When the Bough Breaks
How Racism gets embedded in the body and affects birth outcomes.

February 25: Becoming American
Latino immigrants arrive healthy but don't stay that way.

March 11: Bad Sugar
Diabetes in two Native American communites.

April 1: Collateral Damage *(In UC Shiloh Room)
Marshall islanders are caught between the developing and industrialized worlds.

April 15: Not Just a Paycheck
Unemployment takes a toll in Michigan but not Sweden.

UT Film Committee is hosting a FREE showing of "Casino Royale"

"Casino Royale introduces James Bond before he holds his license to kill. But Bond is no less dangerous, and with two professional assassinations in quick succession, he is elevated to '00' status. Bond's first 007 mission takes him to Uganda where he is to spy on a terrorist, Mollaka. Not everything goes to plan and Bond decides to investigate... The marathon game proceeds with dirty tricks and violence, raising the stakes beyond blood money and reaching a terrifying climax." (imdb.com)

The film will be shown Wednesday, November 12th at 7pm in the UC Auditorium.

Film Committee Change in Movie Dates

Due to a delay in The Dark Knight's release date, The Dark Knight will now be shown on November 14th at 7:00 pm. Pineapple Express will be shown November 21st at 7:00 p.m. Both are presented by the UT Film Committee in the UC Auditorium. Price is $1 for UT students with valid ID/ $2 without ID.

Film Committee Releases Fall 2007 Schedule

The Film Committee today announced it's Fall 2007 lineup, including The Bourne Ultimatum, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Ocean's 13 and the traditional screening of Rocky Horror Picture Show. The full schedule is available on the Film Committee Calendar.
