Women's Coordinating Council
The Women's Coordinating Council (WCC) presents programs on a variety of issues related to women. These programs are available to students, faculty, and staff. The issues addressed include women's health, body image, gender and sexuality, sexual abuse, assault awareness, and leadership development. Some recent examples include: Guerrilla Girls, Rebekka Armstrong, Rebecca Walker, Pura Fe, and an Abotion Debate. The WCC also sponsors Take Back the Night which encompasses a march and candlelight vigil for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. WCC Membership Application Deadline Extended
The Women's Coordinating Council will continue accepting membership applications until THIS FRIDAY, Feb. 8th. Applications are available online and on the door of the Women's Center on the third floor of the UC, Rm. 301. Applications are NOW due by 5pm on February 8th, in the Women's Center Rm. 301. Interviews will run Feb. 11-14th. All interested students are encouraged to apply.

WCC Seeking New Members
The Women's Coordinating Council will be accepting membership applications up until February 1st. Applicatons are available online and in the Student Activities Affairs office on the third floor of the UC. Applications are due by 5pm on February 1st, in the Student Activities Office. Interviews will run Feb. 4th-8th. All interested students are encouraged to apply.

WCC Hosts "Take Back the Night"
The University of Tennessee’s Women’s Coordinating Council, will host the annual Take Back the Night on Thursday, Oct. 18th at 6:30 p.m. during the Week of the Woman, beginning with a march starting at the Pedestrian Walkway on UT’s campus and ending at the University Center Ballroom, with speakers, a speak-out session where those who were affected indirectly or directly by sexual assault or domestic violence may speak out about their pain or frustration, and a candlelight vigil to finish off the nights’ events. Throughout the week there will be the Clothesline Project displayed on the University Center Plaza from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, Oct. 16th through Oct. 18th. The Clothesline Project is a visual of t-shirts decorated by victims of violence. So come on out and support. Attached are flyers of Take Back the Night and the Week of the Women's events.
